We are proud to have received this award during the Holland & Barrett Charity Golf Event. During this event, Holland & Barrett awarded multiple prizes for numerous reasons.
A long-term relationship
We are in a long-term relationship with Holland & Barrett, constantly looking to improve. Since sustainability is an important topic within our industry, we are very excited to have contributed to replacing the current Holland & Barrett packaging solutions with more green options.
During this project, we came up with several solutions to improve the carbon footprint of our packaging solutions. This resulting in:
- 15-20% weight reduction in terms of kilograms for several PET products;
- Replacing Virgin PET products with 100% RPET products;
- Minimizing the sizes of the packaging solutions. Before the smallest bottle was 120ml. Now, Holland & Barrett is also using 60ml, 75ml, and 100ml bottles for their range;
- Merging multiple colours to only one universal colour.
Because of the variety of these solutions, we made sure that for every product we supply one or more solutions were applicable.

“Berlin has supported our sustainability program of Reduce, Reuse & Recycle by investing financially in new tooling and adding complexity to their production planning, at a time when the packaging market has been significantly challenged from both availability, costs, and resource. They achieved delivering this on time to support our VHMS OL reset launch plan and it is expected that once the transition is completed, not only will all of our supplements we pack at Burton 2, be packed in recycled material, we will also reduce our annual amount of plastic that we use by 427 tonnes – equivalent to 85 elephants!” – Holland & Barrett
